Collections are a selection of CS2 and CS:GO skins produced by Valve. A total of 37 collections have been released with the most recent being the Anubis Collection which was released in April 2023 in the lead-up to the final CS:GO major in Paris.
Which CS2 Collections are dropping?
Active Collections drop skins through the weekly drop scheme. The weekly drop scheme resets every Wednesday and will randomly award a player with a skin from one of the active collections or a random graffiti.
Active Prime Drop Collections
The active collection drop pool was last changed in 2018 with the additions of 2018 Inferno and 2018 Nuke.
Operation-exclusive Collections
Operation-exclusive Collections are available only to CS2 players who have purchased and activated an Operation Pass. The four exclusive collections introduced as part of Operation Riptide are the 2021 Mirage, 2021 Dust 2, 2021 Vertigo and 2021 Train collections.
Operation Riptide
A random skin from these collections could be purchased from the Operation Riptide store within the CS:GO game client using 4 stars.
Operation Broken Fang
A random skin from these collections could be purchased from the Operation Broken Fang store within the CS:GO game client using 4 stars. Skins from these collections ceased to be available from the Operation Broken Fang store on 15 May 2021.
The Ancient collection is speculated to re-appear in a souvenir package at the next CS:GO major as the demolition map Ancient was added to the active duty map pool.
Operation Shattered Web
Operation Shatterd Web introduced three new CS:GO collections: Canals, Norse and St. Marc.
These collections were available for the duration of Operation Shattered Web from 18 November 2019 to 31 March 2020.
Operation Hydra, Operation Wildfire and Operation Bloodhound
Operations Hydra, Wildfire and Bloodhound would award CS:GO players who held an active operation pass, a random skin from one of the following collections: Cache, Chop Shop, Cobblestone, Gods and Monsters, Overpass and Rising Sun.
The Chop Shop, Gods and Monsters and Rising Sun collections were introduced at the beginning of Operation Bloodhound and continued to be used in subsequent operations before being discontinued on 13 November 2017 with the conclusion of Operation Hydra.
The Overpass and Cache collections continue to be available as souvenir packages during CS:GO majors. The Cobblestone collection however, has not been available as a souvenir package since the end of ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018.
These collections would drop skins through the weekly drop scheme instead of the Active Collection drop pool only to those players who have the current CS:GO operation pass.
In-active Collections
In-active Collections are not available through the weekly drop scheme. The skins from these collections can only be acquired through opening souvenir packages or gift packages, or through trading and the Steam Community Market.
Discontinued Collections
Retired Collections do not drop at all making it impossible to acquire any of the skins from these collections except through trading or the Steam Community Market.
The Blacksite Collection was only available during the first few weeks of the launch of the Dangerzone game-mode.

Release Date
There is no pattern in the release date for skin collections. For the past few years Valve has released between three and four new collections for operations Shattered Web, Broken Fang and Riptide. The last collections to be released and made available to all CS:GO players is the 2018 Inferno and 2018 Nuke collections which are currently used in the weekly drop pool.
